continued Friday and Saturday

Friday April 21st was fully spent in Queenstown. Unfortunately it was raining all morning and gloomy most of the day. With no plans we headed out to town. The morning was primarily spent purusing the shops, and at 2pm we took a cruise around the area. it was great cause just as we left the sun came out but it was still raining and there was the most amazing double rainbow. It was beautiful scenery and enormous mountains all around us the entire time.

A small siesta was taken after this at the hostel and when dinner time rolled around we headed out to this nice italian place. That evening we decided to partake in the nightlife that Queenstown is also known for. We hung out with some of the hostel residents and did some pre-drinking then we headed out to one of the bars that we had been given free shot coupons at. When we arrived at the bar it just so happened that Kim and Fema from residence were there with their friend Karin. It was crazy coincidence to see them there and we all went out dancing. Good night. That evening or rather morning, we had a little scare when someone tried to break into our room at the hostel, fairly frightening but in the end not a big deal and nothing happened so it was fine.

Saturday April 22nd. The big jump day! We slept in a bit, then wandered the weekend market. I got a beautiful necklace with a symbol I am very fond of with three swirls that represents the changing world and ones ability to adapt within it. We met our leader and group for the Canyon Swing at noon and drove out to the top of the Canyon. We were both very nervous and excited for it. Erin jumped off holding onto the string and I was very proud of her for doing it because it seemed she was not going to. When i jumped I fully spread out jumped and waved hello to Erin who was filming me.

Then I realized i was free-falling and starting flailing, but it was an amazing feeling and a beautiful view once in air swinging.

Directly after getting back from this exursion we drove up to Franz Josef. Arrived into Fox Glacier (the town just before Franz Josef) around 7 or 8 pm and we were just starving so we ate there. I had a really yummy veggie burger. Then we continued on, this drive was kinda crazy cause it was alot of zig-zag driving in the dark and it was raining, needless to say i took it slowly, and we were perfectly fine, thanks Puddin'! The hostel here was amazing, its too bad we werent in it longer than just sleeping hours.
